Course Overview
``The quarterly summaries are going to be late again``

Addressing performance or behaviour issues is one of most challenging tasks a manager faces and many practice avoidance instead of dealing with the issues. This workshop focuses on identifying and addressing performance or behaviour issues in a timely manner. Participants are introduced to a communication model to help structure their conversation and anticipate some typical responses. Working in collaboration with the employee, the manager gets agreement to change activities and behaviour as appropriate. A follow up and review process is introduced to review and support the change or introduce further actions if required.
The workshop includes the following topics;
- What makes some conversations difficult
- Conflict and conflict avoidance
- Our role as leader
- The focus on behaviour
- Â Identifying what we`d like them to be doing
- Planning the communication
- Collaborating to find a solution
- Getting agreement
- What if they won`t participate
- Review and follow up
- The importance of support
- Setting expectations
