Course Description

At this point, you have a well-rounded set of skills for creating Web pages. HTML 4.01: Web Authoring, Level 3 (Second Edition) is the third and final course on the topic of creating Web pages with HyperText Markup Language (HTML). Its purpose is to show you a lot of the undervalued aspects of the HTML language that will not only help the majority of your users have the best possible experience, but it should also help you stand out among other Web authors.

Course Objective: You will use CSS properties and HTML elements to enhance the usability and professionalism of Web pages.

Target Student: Persons who can perform the tasks necessary to create most Web pages, but want to enhance the usability and professionalism of their Web pages.

Prerequisites: HTML 4.01 Web Authoring, Level 1 (Second Edition) and HTML 4.01 Web Authoring, Level 2 (Second Edition).

Performance-Based Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

• modify hypertext links to extend their power and flexibility.
• enhance the organization, functionality, and appearance of Web forms.
• create and format data tables that load faster than tables with “traditional” structure elements and are more accessible to non-visual browsers. You will also enhance the visual distinction between table rows and columns by modifying table borders.
• position content on a Web page using frames.
• prepare a site to be published on the Web.
